Cardiff Surf Classic and Rerip Green Fest Announced

The two-day event will be at Seaside Beach.

The Cardiff 101 Main Street organization has teamed with non-profit Rerip.org to host the on Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18, at Seaside Beach in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. 

In addition to the surf contest, there will be live music, local organic food, a kid’s zone and a Green Fest comprised of eco-friendly businesses, government agencies and non-profits bringing education and awareness of sustainability to our communities. Local shapers, artists, vendors and environmentally minded organizations will all be on-hand.

Last year’s event drew out about 12,800 locals, and organizers are anticipating another good turnout.

"Every year we are amazed by how generous our sponsors and the community are with their time, energy and resources,” said Rerip.org co-founder Meghan Dambacher. “It is inspiring to see people come out to recycle boards, enjoy the surf contest and to contribute their ideas to the environmental movement. The event has an incredible, positive vibe."

The event is currently sponsored by several organizations , including the County of San Diego, the City of Encinitas, Stellar Solar, Clif Bar, Scripps Health, Seaside Market, Steele Realty, RPM Mortgage and Morris Wealth Mgmt, among others. Sponsorship opportunities from $1,000 to $10,000 are still available, and include promotion on event marketing materials, at the event, and on the website. Vendor booths are $300 and include overnight security and space at the two-day event.

Businesses based in Solana Beach and Cardiff-by-the-Sea are encouraged to enter the fun and friendly team surf competition.
