Chargers Must Sell 5,500 Tickets to Lift Blackout

The San Diego team is playing the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The Chargers need to sell 5,500 tickets by Thursday at 1:15 p.m. to have Sunday's football game against the Buffalo Bills appear on local television, the team announced Tuesday.

The NFL's blackout rules call for all but the most pricey club level tickets to be sold 72 hours ahead of kickoff.

The league often grants 24-hour grace periods if a team is close to the mark by the Thursday deadline.

The team's 22nd annual toy drive to benefit Marine Toys for Tots will be held on Sunday. Marines and wives of the players will help to collect new, unwrapped toys.
