Cardiff Kook Run

Get out there and run in the annual Cardiff Kook Run.

There is a 10K ($40) and a 5K ($30) for both experienced and beginner runners.

Athletes can dress in costume for some Cardiff Kook spirit and the top three costumes will be awarded prizes.

The 10K race starts and finishes at Moonlight Beach, heading south through old downtown Encinitas, past Swami's and on down to Cardiff State Beach and then back again. Is any run on earth more beautiful than that? Fruit and water stations will be provided along the route. Click here for maps

The 5K race starts at Moonlight Beach, heads south through old downtown Encinitas, past Swami's and will turn around in Pipe's Parking lot. Is any run on earth more beautiful than that? Fruit and water stations will be provided along the route. Click here for maps.

Check in is at 7:30 a.m. and the 10K starts at 8:30 a.m. Those running the 5K and in costumes will start at 9 a.m.

The awards ceremony will be at 11 a.m.
