ENCINITAS, Calif., Aug. 17, 2012 – Every year, as temperatures rise and summer winds down, Hansen Surfboards gathers up its summer merchandise and puts on a huge sale to make room for back to school and snow gear. This year’s “End of Summer Sale” starts Saturday, Aug. 18 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 26 at 1105 S. Coast Hwy 101 in Encinitas, Calif. and includes shorts, shirts, shoes, sandals, swimwear and accessories by top brands.
“We have so much great stuff coming in for back to school
and snow season right now and we have to make room for it, so we put on this huge parking lot sale,” said Josh Hansen. “Locals wait for this time every year because they know they can find great deals on everything they need. We’re literally a one stop shop for the whole family, and so convenient for back to school.”
The sale features 30 to 50 percent off men’s, ladies and kid’s swimwear and sportswear, $50 to $100 off select surfboards, and up to 30 percent off rashguards, bodyboards and other items. Select shoes, sandals and backpacks are priced at 30 to 50 percent off.

What started as a small shop in 1961 has grown into San Diego’s largest surf shop spanning more than 16,000 square feet with a dedicated boardroom featuring hundreds of surfboards, surf accessories and experts to advise shoppers on the best surfboard for every ability. There’s also a sandal room featuring more than 6,000 pairs of shoes. The main store carries a variety of clothing for women and men, a t-shirt wall, an area featuring more contemporary surf clothes for all ages, and a dedicated area of the store for children’s clothing and accessories. Home décor, gifts, and backpacks are also available.
“We work with all the big brands such as Quiksilver, Hurley, Roxy, Volcom, O’Neill, Billabong and others, so no matter what you’re looking for, you should be able to find it here or on our website,” added Hansen.
