Mavericks Shortstop Phillip Evans Drafted by Mets

LCC graduate also has a scholarship to play for Tony Gwynn at San Diego State.

La Jolla High School center fielder Brad Zimmer went later in the Tuesday selections, in the 23rd round to the Chicago Cubs. Zimmer batted .446 with 26 RBI for the Vikings this season.
