San Diego Chargers Host Free FanFest Saturday at Qualcomm

At least 10 former Chargers will be there to sign autographs and fans can watch the team practice for two hours. Gates open at 10 a.m.

Hey Encinitas Chargers fans, it's that time of year again – when the Bolts throw open their doors for you to watch the team practice and get autographs.

The Chargers will conduct their annual free FanFest during Saturday's practice at Qualcomm Stadium, with fans having the opportunity to see the team practice and get autographs from former players.

The parking lot will open at 9 a.m. and stadium gates at 10 a.m. The FanFest will begin with the Charger Girls performing for the first time in 2013.

From 10-11 a.m. former Chargers will be available to sign autographs, pose for pictures and discuss football. The former Chargers scheduled to attend include:

  • Jacques Cesaire and Jamal Williams (Gate A); 
  • Rolf Benirschke and Doug Wilkerson (Gate D); 
  • Hank Bauer, Willie Buchanon and Pete Shaw (Gate G); and 
  • John Carney, Burt Grossman and Billy Ray Smith (Gate K).

The Chargers will practice from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Fans also will have the opportunity to get their faces painted and receive temporary tattoos. Tickets, food and team merchandise and apparel will be available for purchase.
