Special COASTER Added for Chargers Season Opener Mon. Night

Fans will be able to take the COASTER to and from the Chargers Monday night game, September 9.

In an effort to help fans thoroughly enjoy the game experience by avoiding traffic and parking fees, North County Transit District will run a late COASTER train which will depart Old Town Transit Station approximately 75 minutes after the end of the Chargers football game Monday, Sept. 9.

Passengers can travel south on the COASTER to Old Town and transfer to the MTS Trolley Green Line to Qualcomm Stadium. Fans are encouraged to purchase a RegionPlus Day Pass for $12. The RegionPlus Day Pass includes roundtrip fares for both the COASTER and the Trolley. There are several ways to purchase RegionPlus Day Passes; on game day from ticket vending machines (TVMs) on COASTER or SPRINTER platforms by selecting “Current Promotions,” in advance from customer service at Oceanside Transit Center, Escondido Transit Center or Vista Transit Center and after September 5 online at www.GoNCTD.com/eticket or with the NCTD mobile app available on iTunes and Google Play. Riders should note that COASTER one-way or round trip tickets do not include Trolley fares and they will be required to purchase a separate Trolley ticket.

There are several southbound COASTER trains which will get fans to the stadium in time for the 7:20 p.m. kickoff including; COASTER 656 which arrives in Old Town at 4:31 p.m., and COASTER 660 which arrives in Old Town at 6 p.m. Due to the expected crowds, passengers are encouraged to allow ample time to reach the stadium. A complete schedule is available at GoNCTD.com.
