Surf Report & Forecast for May 18-19

Don't bother checking this morning.

It's victory at sea this morning: Ugly, choppy, dirty and with no sign of any organized wave. County health officials recommend staying out of the water for 72 hours after a rainfall of 0.10 inches or more.

The big question is whether or not the wind will subside. It's not likely. Gusts of westerly winds up to 30 knots or higher are expected for this afternoon, with the possibility of more rain in the forecast.

Sunset tonight: 7:44 p.m.

Water temperature, if you're jonesing that bad: 62 degrees.

Tomorrow, May 19, there is no more rain forecasted, but the south winds that have been chopping wave faces to bits are expected to stick around. Typical springtime windy blues. Learn how to kite surf.
