Tennis Block Party

Tennis is a game of "love," but it is also a game for life.

They say tennis is a game for a lifetime, and now science has the evidence to prove it.  According to a study conducted by the Harvard University School of Public Health, people who participate in tennis three hours per week (at moderatly vigorous intensity) cut their risk of death in half from any cause. And scientists at the University of Illinois report that playing tennis may generate new connections in the brain, due to the level of alertness and tactical thinking the sport requires.

One thing it doesn't take a scientist to know about tennis -- it's a lot of fun for all ages!

This Saturday, Sept. 10, enjoy a morning filled with free tennis activities for all ages offered by City of Carlsbad Parks & Recreation tennis instructors from 10 a.m. to noon at Poinsettia Community Park.  Play skills games, sample classes and get to know the instructors offering youth and adult tennis classes at locations throughout Carlsbad.

Whether you're a seasoned player, or you've never picked up a racquet, you'll have a swinging time with us learning tennis.  Best of all, it's free!
