Help this Rescue Dog, and Maybe Win a Cake

Take a good look at Luca. This rescue dog was hit by a car and he now has several wounds that need to be treated and his left rear hip is totally out of socket. The good news is that he can be easily mended with proper medical care and surgery — and the better news is that he’s now in the good care of the Boston Brigade rescue group, which was able to save him in the nick of time yesterday.

But Luca could still use a little help. In an effort to raise money for his surgery and care, is raffling off a 9-inch cake that’s big enough to feed 25 people in any flavor you’d like. How’s that for an incentive to help? 

If you’d like to pitch in for Luca, you can buy raffle tickets at  now through Saturday, Feb. 18. Those raffle tickets are $2 each, and the cake is worth $85 — and of course, the satisfaction of knowing you helped a dog in need is priceless.
