Local Foundation Seeking Artwork for Fundraiser

Synergy Art Foundation is raising money for local artists in need.

Every week, Encinitas Patch spotlights one easy way you can give time, energy, or donations to make a difference in our community.

This week, consider creating some art for Synergy Art Foundation’s From Blanks to Beauty — a fundraiser for artists in need due to medical crisis, accident, fire or loss of personal and professional property.

If you’d like to donate your artistic talents to the cause, here’s how it works: The foundation is giving away 200 blank 10” x 10” canvases for artists to create works using the theme ‘beauty.’ Those artworks will be auctioned off Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Mosaic Wine Bar. The proceeds will be split 50/50 between Synergy Art Foundation and the artist, though participants may choose to donate all the money to the fundraiser’s beneficiary: Synergy’s Emergency Artists’ Support League (EASL). A group of local artists founded EASL in 2003 after the firestorms impacted many of them. To date, EASL has assisted more than 50 artists and ten arts organizations.
