Welcome to Encinitas Patch Pet of the Week!

Each week, Encinitas Patch will work with the to feature a pet in need of a loving home.

This week meet Tex, a miniature poodle and pekingese mix, who knows no strangers - just future friends. 

Name: Tex

Breed: Miniature Poodle / Pekingese Mix - Cream

Age: 3 years 5 months 

Gender: male Size: 20 pounds 

Ok with Dogs?: Yes 

Ok with Cats?: Unknown 

Tex may be on the smaller side, but this little guy has a big heart with plenty of love and affection to spare. He's quite comfortable being the center of attention, and welcomes the company of other people and dogs. So much so, in fact, that he does not like being alone and would likely do best in a home with another dog. 

Tex was purchased at a pet store that said he was a 'peekepoo,' a pekingese and poodle cross. Long walks are one of Tex's favorite pastimes, making him a great candidate for active owners. He is also exceptionally intelligent, and has already started learning new tricks. Tex is sweet, smart, and ready to become someone's pampered prince. 

Tex is available for adoption through the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. His adoption fee is $125, which includes his neuter, vaccinations and a vet exam.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society is located at 389 Requeza St. in Encinitas. The hours of operation are from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., except on Tuesday, when the shelter opens at 11:30 a.m.
