Pet of the Week: Putty

Welcome to Encinitas Patch Pet of the Week.

Each week, Encinitas Patch will work with the Rancho Coastal Humane Society to feature a pet in need of a loving home.

This week, meet Putty, a sweet girl who loves the spotlight. 

Type of animal: Puppy

Age: 5 months

Weight: 15 pounds now, possibly 40 when he grows up

Gender: Male, neutered

Breed:  Cocker Spaniel / Terrier mix

Okay with dogs? Yes

Okay with cats? Unknown

Putty loves everyone he meets, and is full of energy. Remember that puppies need lots of attention and exercise, and it's never too early to begin training a puppy. Don't forget those trips to the park or the beach so he gets to meet other dogs. 

The animal lovers at Rancho Coastal Humane Society say that Putty gets along great with other dogs, but as far as they know he's never been around cats. If you have a cat and you're interested in Putty, RCHS is happy to do a controlled "cat test."

Putty is available for adoption at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. His adoption fee is $175, which includes a medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, and microchip. 

 is located at 389 Requeza St. in Encinitas. The hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Tuesday, when the shelter opens at 11:30 a.m.
