Get Ready for DEMA's Annual Safe Trick or Treat Downtown

Come in costumes, get candy from merchants and see amazing pumpkin carvings by the monks at Self-Realization Fellowship.

Halloween arrives on Thursday this year and downtown Encinitas merchants will be handing out treats to all the costumed kids who participate in DEMA’s annual Safe Trick or Treat.  With the help of the Self-Realization Fellowship and the 101 Artists’s Colony, downtown becomes a something of a Pumpkin Lane, a safe and fun environment for families to enjoy.

Each year, the monks of Self-Realization Fellowship, grow the pumpkins above Coast Hwy 101 that they then carve with beautiful and whimsical designs.  The pumpkins are displayed throughout downtown and never cease to amaze passsers-by.  SRF also presents the Queen’s Court at their bookstore’s parking lot.  The Queen grants wishes to the children who enter her court.

The 101 Artists Colony will have games and music by Bucket Ruckus in the courtyard of the Lumberyard.
