Still looking for a place to celebrate New Year’s Eve? Here’s a list of 40 events throughout the county from the San Diego Tourism Authority.

If you’re heading to Balboa Park on New Year’s Day, be aware that the Cabrillo Bridge is now closed to traffic until April. The historic bridge is being rehabilitated and repaved at a cost of $38 million so that it meets current earthquake safety standards.

Distracted driving is dangerous, especially if you’re a new driver. Starting Wednesday, California drivers under the age of 18 are prohibited from using a wireless device while driving, even if it is equipped with a hands-free option.
