<p>For 27 years, an early 1900s schoolhouse has been the welcome center for the Encinitas Historical Society.</p> <p>Walking into the schoolhouse you find yourself surrounded by history, from the fully restored wood floors and ceiling, to the original desks and black and white photos covering the walls.</p> <p>The Society hosts monthly historical walks in downtown Encinitas on the third Saturday of the month, September through July. </p> <p>The Society also possesses more than 180 historical files on the city. Volunteers greet visitors and share with them a wealth of information about the schoolhouse building and city of Encinitas.</p>
