The vast REI store in The Plaza Encinitas Ranch has two floors of everything an outdoor enthusiast could want, from large items like kayaks, canoes and rock climbing equipment to smaller accessories for every kind of sport. An indoor climbing wall dominates one corner of the store where customers can test their skills when the staff is available. A large bulletin board near the check-out stand has information about local hiking clubs and other outdoor activities. Bike maintenance, rock climbing and other classes are held regularly. There is also a full-service bicycle repair counter towards the back of the store.
