There were several cases of Whooping Cough reported at SDA, not just one. Wondering why not all wereRead More reported.

So glad the County is encouraging parents to make sure their children are current on vaccines...theyRead More work so well. ALL cases reported above were fully vaccinated. A study was recently released that 80% of the people that got whooping cough during the 2010 outbreak were fully vaccinated also. Apparently you have better chances of actually getting it if you are vaccinated so I am glad they are encouraging parents to do so.

To see these young people participate in such a loving cause and to care about animals so much toRead More give up a Saturday afternoon for them is a beautiful thing!! I'm very proud of them. I for one will be taking my dog for a bath after the beach. Thank you students, and adults that are helping and encouraging them.

The problem is NOT guns. It is Dr Spock who said that we can't correct our kids. InstantRead More punishment for bad as well as instant gratification for good is the best we can do to keep kids out of trouble. and taking away guns is worse than the crime. if we were required to carry guns then there would be NO gun crime in fact all kinds or crime would go down because the STUPID would die the first time they tried to hurt someone with a gun which would be almost anyone since we would all be armed. Can you imagine trying to rob a bank and as soon as they pulled their gun the other 10 in the bank pulled theirs.

You're right: guns are not the problem. Gun ADVOCATES are the problem. The disease lies with theRead More people who are so fixated on weapons. How did you folks get so scared? Especially when you live in a place where there's something like one murder every ten years. Turn off your TV, and the fear will start to subside.

Evan's parents and sister did everything they could to help him. After he turned 18, it made itRead More that much harder as he was so confused he just wasn't able to make good choices or welcome or accept help. I pray for the officer with the injury to his leg, I pray that Evan rest in peace, I pray his family and friends remember him at the times when he was happy, not on heroin, those moments off time when mental illness didn't consume his life.

Why should yoga be offered after school, as opposed to part of the P.E. ? It's only a 3 or 4Read More students per school, whose parents oppose the yoga class. The children have been offered an alternative class to take if they want to opt out of Yoga, which by the way has been stripped of any religious aspect it's basically stretching! No one is trying to push anything religious or violating anybody's rights, if anything it's these few parents that are suing trying to push their religious beliefs on others. I have heard these kind of Christians talk around here, they think it's their mission to get anything with the word Yoga out of this town without regard to how and who they are hurting during The process. I mean this is Encinitas, yoga is everywhere. Please just move somewhere else if you do not like the district to actually care enough to offer something beneficial to our children in school. My daughter attends school here, and I feel blessed that she can attend such a great public school . Also, everyone has their right to their opinion, since your so into constitutional rights and all do not tell anyone to keep their opinion to themselves.

Mrs.Sedlock is a professional motivational speaker?! Well she sure is not bringing out the best inRead More people in her own community by trying to strip thousands of innocent children of their right to be able to do a basic physical activity during school. This lawsuit is probably not a wise choice for her reputation, her name is all over the news , where by the way is where it stated what she did for a living.

Oh no Mr. Bill! Has the U.S. gone too progressive for you? Is Encinitas too liberal for you for youRead More to understand? The Sedlocks are not the "nicest" people to me. They are public enemy #1 to me and I don't know them. Let me tell you what they did that offended me... they took their minority Bible-thumping opinion and pushed in on the majority of a beach culture that embraces surfing and healthy lifestyles, and yoga is a part of that here. Did they poll to see if the majority of parents felt they same way before they tried to shove their Bible down our throats? The majority of this community does NOT buy the constitutional violation angle and knows if comes from the pulpit of the conservative Christians! Therefore, they have directly offended me and because I have a child in the Encinitas schools and I want her to do yoga for P.E.! Perhaps you need to consider how you deal with progressive change Mr. Bill or leave the direction of the future to the younger generation and take a breather. This is the place for opinions Mr. Bill. You should know, you slam everyone on here.
