Schedule Announced for Commissions' Review of General Plan Update

The process begins this month and continues into March.

Editor’s Note: The following is a news release from the City of Encinitas.

The City of Encinitas is currently conducting a comprehensive update of its General Plan that sets forth the policies, goals, and objectives to help guide land use and citywide decisions for the next 20+ years.  The draft General Plan was released for public comment on September 1, 2011.

The City’s various commissions have been asked to review and comment on the draft General Plan. Each commission would review portions of the draft policy document and provide comments to the Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission would then review the comments from the various commissions and provide additional comments for consideration by the City Council.  Please refer to the attachment for the anticipated dates of element review.
